A U Park

 Homes for sale in AU Park

This is the American University Park area. It was one of the first suburbs of downtown DC. The 2,700 or so single family homes were developed by WC and AN Miller company. Today most of the neighborhood activity surrounds Turtle Park. The park is popular throughout the year (read some four square from visitors). The park is also mentioned on a parents connect site (Turtle Park).

There are two metro stops pretty close to this neighborhood. One is the Tenleytown station and the other is the Friendship Heights station.

If you are in need of a Zip Car, there are many locations in and around American University. Once you reach the main page (Zip Car Locater), use the find cars by location drop down menu and select DC- American University Tenleytown and you will see all of the nearby locations.

Capital Bike Share has a couple locations close to the neighborhood as well. Prices are advertised being under $100 for an annual membership.

Most of the restaurants and bars servicing AU Park are located a few blocks away in Friendship Heights. Groceries can be purchased at the close by Whole Foods,Tenley Market or Safeway. There is also a Rodmans in the area.

One treat that must be visited is Wagshals Deli. They have been serving fine food since 1925.
